Mont Ventoux (38km from Mazan)
The Mount Ventoux, classified by UNESCO
as a biosphere reserve, is home of
an exceptional
array of flora and fauna, including
several
protected species. Mount Ventoux has
become
something of a legend in its time,
due to
the many guelling bicycle and car races
and
is a must for athletic cyclists and
hikers.
Its slopes are great fun during winter
for
winter sport at the Mount Serein ski
resort.
The "Dentelles de Montmirail" : these rocky-blue chalky cliffs are
ideal for hiking and rock-climbing with a
guarantee of big thrills and magnificent
panoramas. At the base, you will find sprawling
vines that produce excellent vintage such
as the reputed Gigondas or Beaumes de Venise,
whereas the breathtaking perched villages
dot the cliff roads, ready to reveal all
their charm.
The Comtadine Plain : nestled in the foothills of Mount Ventoux,
this plain boasts superb orchards, fenced
in by cypress trees and grape vines. Picturesque

Carpentras 4km from MAZAN
Carpentras is located in the Vaucluse department. At
an altitude of 102m and covering 3791 hectares,
Carpentras has a population of 28,000. Carpentras
is a city of the Arts and Culture, modern
yet with strong ties to its history. With
sister cities in Switzerland (Vevey) and
Germany (Seesen) and a Friendship Pact with
the city of Ponchatoula in the United States,
Carpentras has ties throughout the world

Capital of the Comtat Venaissin and located

plane trees of the Jean Jaures drive you

and horticulturists from Carpentras and the
surrounding areas, offering cut flowers,
live plants, shrubbery, flowering plants,
and other sweet smelling varieties. The Place
Aristide Briand emits a rare bewitching perfume
that surrounds the winter truffle market
from November to march. Accounting for 75%
of the national production this region is
the biggest producer of the Black Diamond.
The Grand Flea Market : In the first half of August in the streets
and town squares of the downtown. A one of

The Sunday Afternoon Flea Market and Antique
Market : Under the shade of the plane trees in
the Jean Jaures drive from 12pm to 7pm second-hand
goods or antiques. Free entrance.
